1/2 marathon training is tough.

So tired. Never getting out of bed again. 

Except to work and run. 


I just got my ass kicked. I wasn’t being productive, so I figured I should go try and run….but I got halfway finished and was like “Nonono. I need water. I’m gonna fall apart without some water.” Haha. I’m out of shape, as usual. 
I will recuperate and head back out, sigh.

Running…….Again

Taking C25K more seriously now. If you remember, I posted a little about it towards the beginning of the summer……But I got too ambitious, tried to run every day, then I went to Atlanta for a while and didn’t have anywhere to run and stopped and kind of…..didn’t do any running for a few weeks. But I’ve started again!

I’m on Day 1 of Week 2. I’m supposed to be running 3 minutes and walking 27, but instead I did running 9 minutes and walking 21. You don’t actually do that until Week 5….So I guess maybe I could technically say I’m on Week 5. I didn’t want to follow the plan exactly because while I’m not a seasoned runner, I’m not brand new either. So I guess I’m on track even though I got lazy for a while!

5K Running Program - I'm so using this


Calorie Counter

Today I weigh 115 pounds! Well, as much as I can estimate. My scale says 107, but I’m pretty sure it’s 8 pounds off (compared with a doctor’s office weight), so that’s how much I’ve been adding. But I’d know for sure if my scale worked. 

Anyway, this was definitely not achieved a “heathly” way. My last running update? Yea, that’s the last time I ran. What had happened was I got sick and was too tired/cranky/congested/achy try. Then I started getting better and I was like, “….Ugh, fuck this, it’s so goddamn hot out there.” and I just didn’t go. So to make up for it, I started eating like 1300 calories a day. 

DON’T DO THAT. That’s a great way to fuck up your metabolism and gain weight later. But I just can’t bring myself to exercise. It’s sooooo hot and boring and hurts and I’m a cranky, whiny, lazy baby who just wants to sit in bed. :( 

I’m gonna have to start soon, though, as I really need to be eating like 500 more calories a day and I still want to lose 5 more pounds. And I just need to run in general, for more health benefits than just weight. 

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. 


Summer Running

Just got back from today’s torturous attempt at cardio. I was able to do a couple sets of 3 minutes and a couple sets of 2 minutes running, giving me 5 more minutes total than when I started (7 minutes day 1, 12 minutes on day 3). Improvement is slow, but I actually don’t feel like totally dying today. I came back in because it was so fucking hot,  but I probably could have gone a little longer if I really wanted to push it. I was out of water, though, and really feeling the sun, so I figured 12 minutes was good enough. I also started and ended with 5 minutes of walking, with 2 and 3 minutes of walking sets mixed with the running sets. So, in total, I was out for about 36 minutes. Yay! But I’m really hot and tired now. 

I also made a strawberry banana smoothie last night that was DELICIOUS. Unfortunately, I had to pour half out of my glass to give to my sister, so what I was left with was highly photogenic and I didn’t bother taking a picture. I’m planning on recreating it again today, though, so I’ll update later.
